Etihad has finally today officially opened its new First Class Lounge and Spa in Terminal 3 in Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The lounge was originally supposed to open last year, so let’s hope that this delay is a sign that it is even better than originally planned. To read the press release from Etihad please click here.
The lounge has also its own webpage, which can be found here. :The content of the lounge looks very interesting, according to the press release it ” features 16 unique zones designed to ensure that guests can relax, re-energize and be entertained in total luxury before boarding their flight. An à la carte restaurant, showcase bar, fitness room, cigar lounge, Six Senses Spa, Style & Shave barbers, nail bar, TV room, secluded relaxation room, prayer room and children’s play room ensure that all guests receive a highly personalized experience and intuitive service.”
One of the parts I find exciting about this is the barbers area, looks like it will be similar to what Etihad offers their first and business class passengers on arrival in Abu Dhabi.
The next exciting part for me is the bar area, at which ” you can enjoy a choice of 75 premium spirits, wines from the Etihad international cellar and a selection of beer.” I wonder how many hours I need to spend in the lounge to sample it all… or if I will be allowed to board my flight even 😉
Finally the cigar area of the lounge might actually be the most exciting one, not so much for the cigars as I don’t smoke, but more for the single malts and cognacs… “For cigar aficionados, we have the First Class Cigar Lounge, with nine best-in-class varieties of cigars paired with a large selection of single malt whiskies and Cognac.“
Overall very exciting, and I cannot wait to try it out, I might even leave home a couple of hours earlier than normal next time in order to spend some quality time there.
