Etihad has just announced their 24 hour worldwide sale, at it comes with some great deals on certain destinations, and incredible availability.
I have tried to make a few mock bookings, and all destinations I searched had available flights on the dates I selected, and at the price that was advertised! I quite often find it hard to find the promotion fares, but this time it was not the case, availability is everywhere.
Qatar has recently announced another two new routes they are going to start up this year, and both has been expected for a while.
The first route to start is Doha to Luxor, Egypt. This will initially be a daily service, operated by an Airbus A320. As Qatar Airways has 2 different types of seating configuration in their A320 aircrafts, I am not sure which one they will operate on this route, but they both come with 12 business class seats, and 120 or 132 economy class seats, depending on the version.
Qatar Airways services on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday depart Doha at 7:10 am and arrive in Luxor at 9:35 am. The same day return service departs Luxor at 13:30 to arrive in Doha at 17:10. This flight is quite good timings for people who wants to have a quick get-away to see the sights of Luxor, and you get good use of the day for both flights. On Tuesday, Friday or Saturday flights depart Doha at 21:35 to arrive in Luxor at 23:59, with the return service to Doha’s HIA operating shortly after at 1:30 am (the next day) on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday to arrive back in Doha at 5:10 am.
The 2nd route they have announced, will connect Doha to Mahe, the capital of the Seychelles, a beautiful island off the coast of Africa.
Seychelles has for a long time been on the list of places I want to visit soon, and this new schedule should hopefully help me getting closer to visiting this beautiful Island.
Also this route will be operated by Airbus A320 aircraft, with 12 business class and 120 or 132 economy class seats.
The flights are set to leave Doha at 02:40 in the morning, arriving Seychelles at 08:50, and the return flight leaves Seychelles 19:25 and arrives Doha at 23:30. The flying time in both directions are just above 5 hours, which I personally find to be on the limit of what I can do in a narrow-body aircraft, but considering the great timings of the flights I guess I can live with it, the schedule makes it possible to get away for an oval weekend and basically get 3 or 4 full days out of it (depending on how oval you can make your weekend.)
For the remaining part of October Etihad Guest members can transfer miles from partner programs to their Etihad Guest account with a 20% bonus.
This promotion has been run a few times before by Etihad Guest, and is a good opportunity to get rid of miles in other programs that you are anyway not able to spend on anything, but I am not sure if I would do it if I was planning to use those miles for something within the original loyalty program, or if you don’t have any plans to spend miles with Etihad in the next couple of months.
A while back Beam had a shake-shake promotion, where you would get free credit for shaking your mobile phone.
Now the promotion is back, but with a slightly different twist. This time the promotion will run for 10 weeks, and each weeks there is a different category, and you have to meet a minimum spend at the category to be allowed to participate in the promotion.
This weeks category is ‘Fuel’, and you simply have to spend 100 dirhams on fuel, using your Beam App to pay for it, shake the phone, and you will win a prize, ranging from 5 dirhams to 1 majoy prize each weeks. This weeks main prize is free fuel for a year, which can, of course, be wort quite a bit of money.
